When I was a child, I moved from Puerto Rico to Lake Mary, Florida, with my mother and my brother. Growing up, church was just something we would go to on a Sunday and nothing more. Going into high school, I began to drift far from God as I started to tap into substance abuse and partying. In my junior year of high school, my mom was diagnosed with cancer. That’s where I began to tap into new-age practices as well as fill voids with opioids and any substance I could get my hands on. It wasn’t until my mom enrolled me in a class called Foundations that I began to learn the truth that would set me free from the bondage in my life.
At the end of the 12 weeks, I got baptized and decided to give my life to Christ and follow him. In that time frame, I was learning how to walk in freedom as Jesus became the Lord of my life. As I began to get discipled, I then started to disciple other girls. As I continued serving, I began to feel called into ministry, and that desire to do so kept growing. I started to serve at Seminole State College; through invitations and preaching the gospel, we’ve seen students come and give their lives to the Lord and walk in freedom.
I am super excited and blessed to have the opportunity to intern at Lake Mary Church. I’ll be serving in our college ministry (ENC) at Seminole State College to engage students with the gospel, establish biblical foundations, and equip and empower students to be a light on their campus. I believe that out of the college campus will be the next generation that changes the world with Jesus!
Thank you for your partnership as we change the campus and change the world!
