As one of many who grew up in the church, I felt a misplaced security in my own righteousness and knowledge of the word. But after being humbled and encountering God for who He truly is, I was genuinely saved. From that day forward, God has repurposed my love for the word (and music) not for my own glory but for His, which is why I’m so grateful for the opportunity to serve as a Campus Ministry Intern at Berklee College of Music.
At Berklee, we find those who will shape our culture in the coming decades. People rarely consider the dramatic effect the arts have on our culture, defining what we cherish, what we aspire to, and ultimately, what we worship. Imagine, if you will, if the artists of tomorrow, the molders of our culture, loved God and loved His people. What changes would we see in the culture? What would be the content of our media? What would our relationships look like? Our family life, our leadership? That is what we are praying expectantly for on campus—that the future of our culture starts here with the artists. That is why we are bringing the gospel to Berklee.
And that is why I’m so thankful for your willingness to join in this effort alongside me. God is already moving and preparing the way for this mission. And everything you contribute in faith is making a difference, and it will be felt for generations to come.
